Permit Info

Per Cleveland Building & Housing, the permit process for a shed is basically the same as that for a garage permit: submit an application, with site plans, an affidavit stating you’re the homeowner, and a fee of about $91.

WE DO NOT FILE FOR PERMITS! WE ALSO DO NOT REQUIRE PROOF OF A PERMIT FROM YOU IN ORDER TO SELL YOU A SHED OR INSTALL YOUR SHED ON YOUR PROPERTY!

However, if you should decide to file for a permit, we will assist you with any necessary drawings for the site plans, at no cost.

Contact your local building & housing authority for more information regarding zoning and permits in your area.

Other information to take into consideration when considering applying for a permit:

  • We do NOT attach or affix sheds to existing building structures; sheds are built free-standing.
  • We do NOT build or construct sheds in the front yard, only in the backyard location and at least 10 feet from the rear of the house or rear property line, and at least 3 feet from any fence.
  • We do NOT build or construct concrete/gravel pad/slab foundations for shed installations, however, we will install your shed on your existing concrete/gravel pad/slab, if any.
  • We do NOT run or install electrical wiring, either above ground or below ground, to or through your shed, however, we will install an RV electric hookup for an extension cord to run power from your house or external electric outlet to your shed, for an additional fee. (See ELECTRIC PACKAGE)
  • We do NOT run or install pipes, either above ground or below ground, to or through your shed, however, we will install an RV water hose hookup to provide water from an external hose bibb, or spigot, to your shed, for an additional fee. (See PLUMBING PACKAGE)

Also, take note, if you plan on doing any digging to prepare your site for your shed installation, where necessary, give a call to 811 at least two business days before you plan to dig, and your local utilities will mark their lines so you can dig safely as understanding the location of underground utilities could prevent injury and damage to property.

If you should have any questions or concerns, please contact us PRIOR to your shed purchase, as all SHED purchases are final and nonrefundable.
